Grace the Insta-feed of your followers with this trend

Nearly 24 years ago, Kurt Cobain’s signature look included a trendy pair of women’s white oval sunglasses from Christian Roth’s 6558 series. With current nostalgia for all things ’90s, this trend is making a huge comeback all over social media, especially among our favorite rappers.

According to Billboard, During the first weekend at Coachella, Pharrell and Takeoff of Migos both wore similar white oval frames. Then Playboi Carti performed at SXSW in Acne’s Mustangs in a pink version. And in the last two years, Jay Z, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Harry Styles, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty and Ian Connor have all tried this trend.

Initially designed for women, these sunnies are mainly purchased by men. Their exaggerated shape and considerable oval shape, is nearly identical to Cobain’s original. But of course, Cobain wasn’t the first person ever to wear white oval sunglasses! Audrey Hepburn wore a pair in 1965. Its their relaxed and too-cool attitude what so many influencers and fashion aficionados strive to emulate.

As of me, I love the look! The shades go perfect with a summer dress (as shown below) or a minimal look like a stripped t-shirt and mom jeans. The original pair costs $200-$300 but I found my pair for $7 in Forever 21. You certainly don’t have to break the bank every time you want to try the latest trend so my advice is to find an affordable knockoff that allows you to experiment with your style while saving up your hard-earned money. Trends are so fast-changing that is not worth it to splurge in the actual original piece. I rather spend my money in classic everlasting pieces that will remain timeless for years (and trends) to come. Whether you live in NYC or not, these sunnies are made to cause an impression everywhere you go!

With love,
