Every time I have the chance to visit Puerto Rico, Old San Juan is a must-go. Without a doubt, it’s one of my favorite places in the world!
Established in 1521, San Juan is the second-oldest European-founded settlement in the Americas and the oldest under US jurisdiction. As you can imagine, it is a beautiful place both historically and arquitecturally. Walking around is an adventure by itself! The lovely colonial houses are painted in tropical colors, the streets are paved with cobblestones and the sunset serves as a daily spectacle for the neighbors.
Old San Juan is perfect to go with your family, friends or your loved one; There’s a lot of art galleries, great restaurants, historic places and a bar scene that takes over the streets at night + it’s the venue for one of the best events in the Caribbean, the San Sebastián Street Festival (Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián.) It’s no secret that people in Puerto Rico know how to party, so this event is everything you hope for: parades, Puerto Rican live music, lots of dancing food, and local artisan crafts for sale. It all adds up to one crazy celebration!
I decided to wear a Forever 21 top, an American Eagle denim overall, nude ankel strap heels from Charlotte Russe ($5!) and Coach sunglasses.
