It’s finally that time of the year when I get to travel back home to Puerto Rico! This means getting in contact with nature as soon as I arrive. Not only I crave this but I also need it. Being in NYC for the rest of the year is pretty cool but coming back to where my roots are is a healing and refreshing experience for me. Being in a huge city like NYC can wear you out… all the noise, the lights, the hecticness sometimes gets ahold of me so being able to come back to the island has always been kind of an escapade for me and a way to ground myself in order to stay true to who I am.
This time, I had the chance to go hiking with my best friend to “El Bosque de Pinos”, a pine tree forest. Once you’re there, it doesn’t even feel like you’re in Puerto Rico anymore. The Pinus caribaea is a native pine from Mexico, Cuba, Bahamas and Puerto Rico. You can find this forest in Cayey, its view and fresh air will bring you peace and a time to reflect or simply bonding time with your loved ones.I couldn’t think of a better accessory than my JORD wood watch for this adventure. JORD is focused on creating timepieces modeled after a modern lifestyle so I combined my watch with a lace black dress and my favorite Vera Wang- V458 shades from Kenmark Optical.
For me, The value of a watch is not in being able to tell how much time has passed, but in being aware of the need to make that time count. Moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time. This Zebrawood & Maple watch from the Fieldcrest series reminds me of home wherever I am. You can get yours online, the online shopping experience is super user-friendly because the website provides you with a live watch-specialist chat. I chose my JORD wood watch for its beautiful packaging, high quality and of course, timeless beauty!
