I finally got to attend the We All Grow summit! Only a few hours after arriving to California, the Long Beach Bureau invited me for a trip. My excursion included a helicopter ride of Long Beach, a visit to the Museum of Latin American Art, a skyline cruise on a Harbor Breeze catamaran and a behind the scenes tour at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The tour by air took me over the storied Queen Mary and the spectacular Catalina Island. Then, we headed over to the MOLAA and viewed a comprehensive retrospective exhibition by legendary Los Angeles artist Frank Romero, encompassing over 50 years of the artist’s career.
After viewing some inspiring art, we enjoyed cool ocean breezes as we sailed from Rainbow Harbor and cruised along the Long Beach coastline. We finished our day off with a behind-the-scenes tour of the The Aquarium of the Pacific, which is the fourth most-attended aquarium in the nation. It displays over 11,000 animals in more than 50 exhibits that represent the diversity of the Pacific Ocean.
All of this was sponsored by Long Beach, we were all bloggers and content creators at this exclusive event so their purpose was to advertise their Long Beach with a social media campaign activation through the hashtag: #ThisIsLB.
My trip to California had one reason: attending the We All Grow summit, created by and for Latina influencers around the world.
It all starts with energy — the inimitable passion, enthusiasm and desire for connection that resonates within our Latino culture. We All Grow summit was born from that vision three years ago, from the need to elevate the blogger, creator and entrepreneur communities while celebrating our diversity.
We All Grow summit 2017 harnessed the “Energy of Sisterhood” and provided an intimate gathering with 3 days of experiential networking, learning experiences that propelled growth and lasting connections.
One of the attendees, a mom blogger that focuses on parenting and education, felt rejoiced after the summit.
“Words can’t adequately express the appreciation I feel as a result of #WeAllGrow! I had an opportunity to meet so many great people and reconnect with others. I’m leaving refueled, energized, and equipped to enhance my business” said Latoiya Dean-Dennis.
As Dean-Dennis, I felt inspired to believe in the craziness of my dreams. After attending the “Creating Espacios Hour” presented by Chase, I felt unstoppable. This session had four trailblazing women who shared personal “conquering” moments in their careers.
These four women turned their passions into the driving forces behind their careers. Each woman’s session was about 10 minutes long and consisted of their own aha moment, what they did to get through it and how we could apply a similar formula to any business blip or challenge we’re currently facing.
An hour with Vivian Nuñez, Beatriz Acevedo, Francesca Kennedy and Patty Rodriguez inspired me to translate my passion of blogging into my own business.
Ana Flores, founder of We All Grow, is the visionary Latina I look up to.
“You’re all magic! My heart and soul are full from what we created together. Thanks for showing up with so much love and openness to learn, give and grow” Flores said.
The We All Grow summit starts planning this major event a year in advance. Every single detail is taken care of.
“We’re thankful as a team for our community for letting us do what we love and supporting us. Thanks to all the influencers who came and spent three whole days learning and growing with us! Thank you to all the keynote speakers that bravely took the stage to share their stories. Thank you to all the breakout session leaders for sharing their wealth of knowledge. And a huge thank you to all our sponsors for pampering us and really proving that when one grows, we all grow!” read an email sent after the summit was over.
While traveling back to NYC, I felt a duty, not only to fulfill my desires but also to help others fulfill theirs along the way. Being your own boss and owning it has been one of the major lessons learned during these three days in the West Coast. Sitting around for opportunities to come your way, will not guarantee your success. You have to go out there and fight for it like a #PrincesaGuerrera would do!
